Love for David Simon
A Note from Dr. David Simon:
Dear Chopra Center Family,
In the amazing and mysterious ways of the universe, earlier this week, I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
As of this time, my only symptoms are some visual changes. I am very grateful that I have identified compassionate and competent physicians dedicated to supporting my maximum recovery. To that end, I will be undergoing surgery tomorrow.
I want you to know that although I am feeling some sadness, my overwhelming sense is one of tremendous gratitude, appreciation, peace, and love. My life has been so full and rich, and the love that I am surrounded with permeates every aspect of my body, mind, and soul.
If things go according to plan, it is my expectation that within a few weeks, I will return to support the Chopra Center’s mission of healing and transformation. We have created a magnificent team, which is fully capable of continuing the beautiful and important work of the Chopra Center.
If you wish to lend your support, which I would greatly appreciate, here’s what you can do:
- Keep my family and me in your prayers. Knowing that the collective plays a vital role in shaping reality, I sincerely welcome your loving thoughts and good intentions.
- The Chopra Center team has set up this website where you can post your prayers and good wishes, share stories if I have touched your life positively, and send jokes and funny stories for I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine. I plan to visit this site on a daily basis for your precious inspiration.
- Tell the people in your life that you love them now. Life is so delicate and precious. Take advantage of this opportunity to express your love and gratitude to all those who will listen.
I want you to know that however things unfold, I am filled with love and bliss for this opportunity to have a human incarnation.
Updates will be posted as we receive them. This is a delicate and wonderful time, so let’s come together as a community to support each other. I will leave you with the words of my beloved Hafiz:

Darling David and family,
I’ve been waiting for the update…checking in daily on this site for words from you. Tears of joy filled my eyes when reading of your departure from the hospital and your rapid healing.
Please know that throughout each day I am thinking of you all and sending my love and light. I hope little Jack and I can come see you at the Center soon. Until then, sending you my prayers & intentions, and gratitude for your inspiration and love….

My wife’s and my dearest friend was operated on for a brain tumor cancer 7 years ago and is fully recovered from it at a late age in life. You have my faith and love and gratitude for your gifts to me through your work. J’ai découvert en 2005 Deepack, vous même et votre Centre à Carlsbad ou j’ai pris part à une session de ” healing” après une intervention pour une tumeur cérébrale. J’y suis allée avec ma fille et mon beau fils . Notre expérience au Chopra Center n’a pas été totalement satisfaisante. Mais je garde un souvenir vivace des séances que vous et vos autres collègues ont animéés. J’ai même essayé de reprende une session avec Bernard Lernout en Belgique mais une crise “cykle cell” m’a obligée à interrompre.
Cependant vous comprendrez que j’ai été profondément touchée en apprenant que vous traversez une expérience si déroutante et démesurée. J’admire la foi avec laquelle vous acceuillez ce qui simplement est!!
Du fond du coeur, je prie pour votre le retour de votre bien être. Que Dieu vous Bénisse vous et votre famille. Que Sa Miséricorde Soit avec vous.

I’ve not met you, but I see warmth from your face in pictures and want to let you know you are on my ‘prayer list’. I use a little sticky note on my dashboard to help me be mindful. Am sending love and healing energy to you and your loved ones.
